GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL


Introduction :

The College has a Grievance Redressal Cell to redress the grievances of its stakeholders. The Cell enables a student to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the College. 'Grievance Redressal Cell' enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to "the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias". The cell with faculty members headed by the coordinator Sri.P.Satyanarayana, Incharge-Department of Commerce.

Objectives:

• The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the College.
• Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
• “Grievances” include the following complaints of the aggrieved students, namely: –

1. Irregularity in the admission process adopted by the institute;
2. Refusing admission in accordance with the declared admission policy of the institute;
3. Non publication of prospectus, as specified;
4. Publishing any information in the prospectus, which is false or misleading, and not based on facts;
5. Withhold or refuse to return any document in the form of certificates of degree, diploma or any other award or other document deposited with it by a person for the purpose of seeking admission in such institution, with a view to induce or compel such person to pay any fee or fees in respect of any course or program of study which such person does not intend to pursue;
6. Demand of money in excess of that specified in the declared admission policy or approved by the competent authority to be charged by such institution;
7. Breach of the policy for reservation in admission as may be applicable;
8. Complaints, of alleged discrimination of students, from the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Women, Minority or Disabled categories;
9. Non payment or delay in payment of scholarships to any student that such institution is committed, under the conditions imposed by University Grants Commission, or by any other authority;
10. Delay in conduct of examinations or declaration of results beyond that specified in the academic calendar;
11. On provision of student amenities as may have been promised or required to be provided by the institution;
12. Denial of quality education as promised at the time of admission or required to be provided;
13. Non transparent or unfair evaluation practices;
14. Harassment and victimization of students, including sexual harassment

Procedure for lodging complaint :

• The students are advised to approach the Committee members or their class proctors at any time during the college hours to express their grievances/problems.
• Suggestion / complaint Box is installed in front of the Pricipal’s Chamber in which the students/staff, who want to remain anonymous, can drop their grievances/suggestions in writing for improving the Academics/ Administration in the College.
• Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules should be urgently brought to the notice of the Principal.

Functions of the Grievance RedresselCell :

• The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student/staff and judge its merit.
• To ensure effective solution to the student’s grievances with an impartial and fair approach.
• The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students.
• In most of the cases, the grievances are heard in person and find solutions instantly, depending upon the seriousness of the issue.
• The cell will give report to the Principal about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.
